Great Tea and Exceptional Value
|
Review Date: April 24, 2007

This Tea is Rich yet it is very smooth and has zero bitterness. Reminds me of almost a Black Tea but , yet just a little Different. The quality of the tea leaves will match any high end Tea I have seen on the market. Not to mention its $40 off the Numi Web page. This Tea is a steal at this price. I highly recommend a cup.
Cold morning, hot tea...mmmmmmm

It is already getting cold here in the mornings. I make this tea in a coffee press for a travel mug full that gets me all the way to school. This is not a bunch of ground up flecks of leaves and a whole lot of twigs that look like they went through the leavings of a wood chipper. This is full leaves, dried and not crushed up so there are bits floating in my cup. I can make it really strong or light, depending on my mood. This tea is wonderful with a full flavor.

Marvelous complex flavor. I've never had anything like it, a complex blend of black, oolong and green flavors. Very lively and smooth. This is now one of my favorites!

When I made the switch from soda and coffee to tea, this was the tea that I used. 6 months later I am still using it. A bag goes a long way.
Lighter than most, but nice flavor

I am wondering if this is suffering from age since it is most likely a 2007 harvest and therefore almost a year old. This age could be translating to a much lighter flavor compared to its youth. The leaves are a little brittle, showing its age. Although the flavors are light, they are very nice with a hint of cinnamon and no bitterness. Even with the lighter than expected taste this is still a good value as I have paid more for lower quality leaves, and higher quality leaves will run you >3 times as much.
mild, perhaps too mild...

I wanted to like this tea based on the reviews. I found it mild but it tasted a little soapy to me. I won't give up on Numi tea so I hope the next type of oolong I try taste more crisp and fresh.Numi Tea Oriental Beauty, Bai Hao, Loose Oolong Tea, 16-Ounce Bag
